Privacy Policy

VisionWeb understands its responsibility to protect the privacy of all its users, whether they are eyecare professionals or current or potential patients. VisionWeb will do its best to provide high standards of privacy appropriate to each of these groups. Personal health and practice information is precious, and demands the highest level of privacy for those who choose to share that information.

All Users
VisionWeb makes it easy for all users to find, read and understand our privacy policies, which include:

User Collection Information Disclosure
VisionWeb may on occasion seek information about its users, primarily in the area of computer "cookies," which allow users to enter personal information once, and then have that information stored on their computers to allow for easier identification and data entry. This information will never be shared with anyone outside of VisionWeb without first getting your permission. In addition, on the rare occasions when we will ask for your permission, you must opt in to approve the sharing of it.

Collection or Use of Aggregate Data
VisionWeb will on occasion report to its investors and other interested parties aggregate data. This is data collected from individuals or groups of individuals. We promise to process this information so that no uniquely identifiable information about an individual can ever be distributed to an outside party.

Access to Personal Information Collected by VisionWeb and Provided to Unrelated Third Parties
VisionWeb will never share your personal or patient information with any outside party, related or unrelated, without your specific, opt-in, consent.

E-mail Newsletters
If you sign up for a VisionWeb newsletter, you will be asked to provide certain information about yourself, such as your e-mail address, your preferences for certain kinds of information, and other forms of demographic details. This data will never be shared with outside third parties, but will be used to provide you with a customized newsletter based upon your preferences. Some of the data will be aggregated to provide information to interested third parties. However, the data will be processed so that no uniquely identifiable information about an individual can ever be distributed to an outside party.

Eyecare Professional Users
As eyecare professionals and practitioners, you know how important it is to protect your privacy and that of your current or potential patients. VisionWeb will do its best to provide you and your practice with the highest level of privacy, and to guard your patient information. Here's how it works:

Eligibility
Only qualified eyecare practices will be permitted to enter the professional section of the VisionWeb site. Eyecare providers who are dispensing professionals must first register a user name and password with VisionWeb in order to access the website's Professional areas. This means, of course, that eyecare professional users should protect their user names and passwords. You should also consider changing your password and user name on a regular basis to ensure privacy.

Cookies
"Cookies" are small files of information stored on your computer's hard drive by your Internet browser. These "cookies" are used by websites to personalize and identify the user. VisionWeb uses "cookies" to store information such as your Shopping Cart status and your VisionWeb ordering history.

Consent
By logging on to VisionWeb with your password and username, you consent to the collection and use of this information by VisionWeb. If there are changes to our privacy policy, we will post them on this page so that you will always be aware of what information we collect, how we collect it, and the circumstances under which we will disclose it.
