Optivision, Inc. & VisionWeb O.N.E. Connect to Speed the Optical Ordering Process
Return to the Top

Austin, TX (Nov.10, 2004) VisionWeb, the online service that helps eyecare providers streamline their practices, and Optivision, Inc., a software company offering a complete ophthalmic laboratory management system, have teamed up to give optical suppliers and laboratories a more efficient method of processing orders.

This integration will allow all labs running Optivision software to send orders electronically to other VisionWeb O.N.E.-connected laboratories regardless of the management software the receiving laboratory is running. Optical laboratories running the Optivision software will have the ability to transfer spectacle lens orders to other labs in an automated electronic protocol, without the use of phone or fax. This is great news for the optical industry, because the more labs that are connected, the more orders that can be processed with greater efficiency, speed, and accuracy.

Mike O’Malley, CFO and VP of Business Development for VisionWeb said,” VisionWeb is happy to be working with Optivision and will be able to provide VisionWeb O.N.E. to all their labs. We’re continuing to add efficiencies to every aspect of the spectacle lens ordering and procurement process.”

Bruce Krymow of Marketing & Operations at Optivision, Inc. added, “Optivision takes pride in providing our ophthalmic laboratories with a management system that meets all the technical and management needs of the lab. Our integration with VisionWeb O.N.E. is another step in providing increased efficiencies for the optical laboratory.”

Connections with initial labs will be complete at the end of 2004 with remaining labs connecting in early 2005.

VisionWeb Adds New Features to Product Ordering and Tracking
Return to the Top

Austin, Texas - September 9, 2004 - VisionWeb, LP, the online service to help eyecare providers streamline and simplify their practices, announced today that it will begin expanding its VisionWeb Essential product ordering capabilities to include the ability to redo or resubmit an order, and automatic order archiving.

"We listened to our customers and are creating new functionality that will make placing and tracking orders on VisionWeb even more useful and convenient," said Ron Barnes, vice president of Sales and Marketing.

This new redo/resubmit functionality will allow users to pull up the patient and prescription information from orders that have already been sent, edit them, and resubmit the order as either a new job or a redo. The result is improved efficiency and time-savings, as users will be able to access old orders and revise them without having to re-enter patient and prescription information.

The new automatic order archiving functionality will make tracking orders even simpler by automatically archiving orders that have been shipped and are no longer active. This feature will remove out-of-date information and archive it for the user 4 weeks after the job was shipped, unless it was already archived. This will help users more easily track active orders and organize archived orders.

Eyecare providers who are interested in learning more about this new functionality, as well as other VisionWeb services, can visit the VisionWeb Cyber Café in booth #10109 at the International Vision Expo West, at The Sands Expo & Conference Center, from September 9-11, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV.

Las Vegas, Nevada - September 9, 2004 - VisionWeb, L.P., the online service to help eyecare providers streamline and simplify their practices, announced today that it has completed an integration with Digital Vision, Inc. (DVI) to automate lab-to-lab eyecare product orders through VisionWeb and the DVI lab management system.
